Why? ~Why?

I thought it'll be easy peasy to ask ChatGPT to help me with a banner. Ehmm....

Welcome to my humble corner

I’m Gladys, a startup cofounder and techie living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m a queer woman in my 40s, and I share my space with a luscious white-grey cat you might spot on this site.

Driven by curiosity, I try a lot of things. Earlier this year (2024), I started writing to collect my thoughts and reflect on the wonderful and sometimes unusual experiences I’ve had the privilege (and time and money) to explore. This site is a reflection of those moments, the lessons I’ve learned, and everything in between. I hope you find something here to enjoy.

While I’m curious about many things, I’m particularly drawn to these topics:

  • Nature: Favorite places— National Parks
  • Adventure: Favorite activity— roadtrips
  • Psychology: Favorite book— Laws of Human Nature
  • Philosophy: Favorite topic— consciousness
  • Technology: Favorite topic— blockchain and AI
  • Health and Fitness: Favorite sport— bouldering
  • Coffee: Favorite style— pour-over

Let’s stay curious, keep exploring, and remember— curiosity heals.

Fun facts and disclaimers

  • ‘Curious does’ is short for ‘Curious is as curious does’. Just like ‘Stupid is as stupid does’, from one of my favorite movies Forrest Gump.
  • The logo was created using ChatGPT, and it surprisingly matched what I imagined.
  • For the MBTI-curious, I'm ISFP. ISFPs may be imaginative, but it doesn't imply talent.
  • I try to be honest with my experiences, but may sometimes take creative liberties.
  • I'm not being paid for any product references. This is a hobby for me.
  • Here are a few banners that ChatGPT came up with. I've asked it to remove all text, yet it stubbornly tries 🤷🏻.

Logistics

I plan to post once every 4 weeks or sooner depending on how busy I am, and whether I have anything interesting to share.

If you want to contact me for comments or questions, send me a note on Instagram.

Ghost is the publishing platform I'm using here. I'm happy with it so far, it got me up and running within a few days and it's affordable. You can start it free for 2 weeks, see if you like it.
